Unveil the Terrorscape 2 map art design!
Greetings, Survivors and Killers!
We’ve introduced all the new characters and the new screen design of the Terrorscape 2 core game. So, what’s the next surprise? A new map! Let’s dive into the graphic design of it, the Polar Station!
Overall Concept
Set in the 1990s amidst a snowy backdrop, the map represents a once-active research center in a polar station right after an incident. This is a stark contrast to season 1, which took place in the 1980s in a rainy, abandoned mansion that had been left untouched for years.
In Terrorscape 2, you’ll see traces of life throughout the various rooms, for example, footprints in the snow, signs of daily living in the Crew Quarters, and even thriving plants in the hydroponics lab.
Besides, the map showcases only a small section of the vast polar station, hinting at complex, sealed-off areas beyond the visible boundaries and the endless, desolate snowy expanse outside.
We’ve also maintained our signature color zones: red, blue, and green. While the top-down view of the realistic polar stations should be a more plain environment compared to the varied carpets of Season 1, our graphic designer has ingeniously used walls, lighting, and containers to define these color zones. For example, emergency red lights distinguish the red zone from the blue zone in outdoor areas.
You’ll also notice that there are stairs, adding verticality to the map compared to the flat layout of the mansion in season 1. Our designer has skillfully incorporated shadows and layers to create a sense of depth without compromising the size of the rooms.
