Unveiling the Screen Art: the heart of the polar station! Get a behind-the-scenes look at early designs, work-in-progress art, and the design concepts of our talented graphic designer.
Greetings, Survivors and Killers!
We’re excited to share the journey of our new screen graphic design with you! Let’s dive into our early attempts, key insights, and the design we’re currently working on.
Early Attempts
1. Asymmetrical Design
Our first attempt was an asymmetrical design, but it strayed too far from Season 1, becoming overly distracting.
2. Bold Retro Sci-Fi Colors
We took a daring approach with octagonal outlines, but it ended up feeling too fantasy. The color combinations made it look too complex and didn’t evoke the horror vibe we aimed for.
3. More Conservative Design
Our next try was more structured, but it lacked character and depth, failing to capture the essence we wanted.
Key Insights from Our Journey
Through these attempts and referencing existing architecture, we identified some crucial elements:
-Persuasive Architecture
The design should resemble a real polar station that once operated, aligning with the game’s backstory of high-security research. We want it to enhance the player experience without distracting from the gameplay in their own player area. Think pipes, supports, emergency exits, and red warning lights for added detail!
– Balanced References
We didn’t aim to use existing polar stations as our main reference point because the strong futuristic and high-tech elements of these stations might not harmonize well with the other components of Season 2.

Instead, we drew inspiration from 90s architectures from other fields, which features distinctive elements like metal frameworks, hemispherical protrusions, and organic lines. These characteristics add a touch of aesthetic appeal to our screen design, making it memorable and ensuring it doesn’t appear too flat.

By integrating these design elements, we create a unique atmosphere that resonates with the thematic depth of Terrorscape 2, all while keeping the visual experience engaging for players.
– Harmony with Season 1
We aimed to create a design that matches the Season 1 mansion while retaining its unique character. The texture and architectural style lean towards a 90s tech vibe, different from the 80s Victorian style of the mansion. For example, the window placements mirror Season 1 but bring a fresh take In its design!
– Scaling Consistency
Just like in Season 1, we’re ensuring that the miniatures of killers and survivors will match the screen’s proportions.
Current Design Progress

Our current design is shaping up nicely and is getting closer to our vision! We still have a few details and color adjustments to finalize.
We would love to hear your thoughts! Please share your feedback in the comments. We hope you’ll love this design as much as we do!
See you in the next update!
